What do you most love about running your wedding business?

Everything. My business is and means everything to me!

I made the decision 4 years ago a year after my daughter was born to step away from the corporate world (I was a mortgage consultant for a bank for most of my working life) and to find something that I was passionate about- to find a job that I could fall in love with every day.

An opportunity knocked on my door to try some mascara that was new to the market and with that I found I had a passion for good quality cosmetic & skincare products, but more importantly a passion for helping others. And I could do that through making people feel beautiful. I started with retailing products and quickly realised I could do so much more to help people so booked myself on to the relevant courses to gain my qualifications in makeup application itself. It was honestly the best decision that I have ever made, and with a lot of hard work it has today turned into a business that I am incredibly proud of.

Every man and woman is beautiful! Inside and out! My job is not to make someone beautiful- they already are. No, my job is to make sure they get the treatment and pampering they deserve and ensure that they FEEL beautiful!

I now offer a range of different makeup services including evening makeup, special occasions, classes and weddings. And I love all of it! Weddings however are my favourite- to be apart of someone’s special day like that is phenomenal! To share that excitement with them, help them through the nerves and make sure they feel ‘perfect’ on what will be one of the biggest days of their life is truly amazing! And I am grateful every single day to share these precious moments with them and have the best clients anyone could ever ask for- with life long friendships being formed.

What has been your biggest achievement in business so far?

Oh wow so much. Being able to build this business itself is a huge achievement. Getting my qualifications, working with some incredible other professionals etc. All of it.

I would say my greatest achievement so far from it was travelling up to London in March 2018 to take part in a PR event has to be way up there. Meeting and applying makeup to some of the editors and journalists from some fantastic & well known publications was a moment I will always remember and memory I definitely treasure.

If you were to win, what would this do for your wedding business?

Oh wow- I never expected a nomination so this question seems insane! (In a good way). To be able to say that ***** was the winner of the 2019 Bristol & Somerset Wedding Awards would be incredible! It would absolutely take the number 1 spot for greatest achievements! And would help massively with all future business and clientele.

I have been saying from the beginning that 2019 is the year (I don’t know why its just felt right) with **** expanding this year as well as taking on new ventures such as training, This would help massively to grow the reputation the business has and allow us to help more people feel gorgeous in the future for sure.

How many weddings have you completed from 1st January 2018 – 31st December 2018?

10 (with more for just bridal parties, guest parties etc)
