What do you most love about running your wedding business?

I love meeting new people and the opportunity of the privilege of contributing to a brides most special day is so rewarding. Helping brides to feel and look beautiful and confident and good about themselves is fantastic.

I have been a freelance hair and make-up artist since completing my beauty therapy qualification at college before going on to study media make-up at university. I’ve had the opportunity to work in different hair and make-up jobs in the UK, Australia and the USA – from theatre to catwalk – but I’ve always returned to Bridal Hair and Make-up, as I love it so much.

Alongside my freelance business, I have been a make-up lecturer for around 14 years  Рthis helps me keep my skills very up-to-date and current in the industry.

My broad experience around the globe as well as my teaching skills help me to offer a well-rounded package that can cater for each individual bride. I love a challenge. I thrive on getting a large bridal party ready on time and looking fantastic. This passion and experience makes me the artist I am today.

I offer a wide range of services that can cater for all wedding needs, including: bridal hair styling and make-up; airbrush makeup; one-to-one tutorials; manicures; and CND shellac nails.

I’m proud to have recently switched all of my consumable products in my professional kit to cruelty free only products, and I also offer a wide range of vegan products such as those produced by Arbonne.

What has been your biggest achievement in business so far?

Becoming a mum and continuing to be a successful businesswomen is my biggest achievement so far, and easily the most challenging!

I also won a “most booked for 2018” award from South West Bridal Hair and Make-up. This was a massive accomplishment as it’s been my busiest freelance year to date, which has not been an easy balance around my family commitments – especially my son as he’s been in and out of hospital since he was 3 months old.

If you were to win, what would this do for your wedding business?

I have never entered a competition like this before, but it would be a dream come true!

It would be a welcome recognition of the hard work that I have put in to my business and for each and every bride that I have worked with so far, and a little seal of approval for those brides that I am yet to work with! It would be a great boost for my business, which I would love to see evolve to the next level in 2019.
